Entry 380: A JOKE moral of the story.

The Genie Story

3 survivors from an airplane crash landed on a deserted island. They were stranded there and had no means of food or other essential sources.

Then they found a lamp like the Aladdin's and went to rub it.
Indeed, a genie appeared and begged the hungry survivors not to eat him as he will grant them 3 wishes.
1 wish each.

The first guy wished to go back to Singapore and have all pretty girls at his command.
The second guy wished to go back Singapore and own all casinos plus the blondes at his command.
Genie granted both.

The third guy couldn't decide, but Genie insisted he should have one wish.
So, third guy ask genie to get the two other survivors to come back and decide for him.
Poof!
There goes the last wish.

All 3 survivors were back on that deserted island.

I heard this story from another person before. But the recent guy who told me added the moral..

That if you have friends who have no dreams or goals in life, they will pull you down or hold you back.
I was taken aback.
Not by what he said that is "true" but cos what he said amused me.
I was pretty irritated when he tried to say it in a smiling manner.
Oh gosh.. smell sarcasm and an attempt that probably been trying too hard to make the moral feels like a "inspirational and motivating" one.
wooops :x

I am not the only person who was disgusted by that "moral" he claimed.

Tell me just honestly, if you really are someone with dreams and goals, you will try to achieve it.
No one can pull you down or hold you back.

Spell determination, perseverance and persistency.
If you are of the above, you will eventually be successful in whichever aspect you wish to succeed in.

I EMPHASIZE..

NO ONE IS GOING TO AFFECT YOU IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOU WANT IN LIFE CLEARLY.

  1. Actually, to a certain extent your friend is right. Successful people do not have loser friends.

but it is also a very mlm-like-teaching that is often over-emphasized negatively.
